About the project
With the aim of participating in the field of sustainable development of Slovenian tourism, in 2016 we established the Slovenia Green Consortium, which counts over 40 members today. Together, we carry out educational, developmental and promotional projects. Partner: Slovenian Tourism Board.
Mission
Connecting all green-minded individuals and teams across destinations, businesses, and interest groups into a unified, formal consortium. The consortium operates as a single entity with the aim of developing sustainable tourism destinations and offerings, as well as creating and advancing green, innovative products at both the local and national levels. The consortium represents the interests of its members and follows Slovenian tourism's strategic development directions.
Activities
1.
Training for destinations and tourism providers on implementing sustainable practices (for the needs of the Slovenia Green Scheme implementation).
2.
Establishing a development hub for creating sustainable and innovative tourism products and solutions within tourism businesses and destinations.
3.
Creating an incubator for green entrepreneurial ideas.
4.
Establishing a research center for innovative tourism products and opportunities for their implementation in collaboration with interest groups, regional and local tourism organizations, municipalities, and research institutions.
