Projects that fulfill the mission of Goodplace Institute
We strive to realize our ideas and mission through our projects, so in recent years, we have been actively developing sustainable products in various fields.
Slovenia Green
Green Scheme of Slovenian tourism
We are the author of the Slovenian national scheme Slovenia Green, owned and operated by the Slovenian Tourism Board. Goodplace, an accredited partner, is in charge of managing the scheme. The Slovenia Green program has made a significant contribution to recognizing Slovenia as a sustainable tourism country and bringing it a series of awards and titles (National geographic Destinations leadership award). We regularly present our experiences at conferences around the world and share our knowledge with other countries and regions on the path of developing national and regional sustainable tourism schemes.

Visit GoodPlace
Travel agency for the responsible tourist
The founding members of the GoodPlace Institute have also founded the Visit GoodPlace travel agency whose mission is to develop and sell sustainable outdoor tourism products. Visit GoodPlace, with the network of partners participating in the Green Scheme of Slovenian tourism, is developing comprehensive tourism products and successfully markets and implements them in its programs. This way, we fulfill our commitment to fully support the development and sale of sustainable tourism products.

Soča Outdoor Festival
An eco-friendly festival
GoodPlace is the co-organizer of the most sustainable sports festival, Soča Outdoor Festival, attracting almost 2000 competitors to the Soča Valley annually. The festival has a sustainable strategy in place. Every year we introduce new and innovative solutions that significantly contribute to reducing the negative impacts of mass events on the environment and increase the positive effects for local providers. This makes the festival an example of good practice.

NoMorePlastics for Tourism
As partners, we have joined the non-profit organization NoMorePlastics, which strives to reduce the use of plastics, raise awareness and protect and conserve nature.
- Plastic removal on beaches
- Visitor awareness
- Setting up models to reduce plastic use in tourism

Project Krasn'Krš
Full name:Preservation and valorization of heritage and development of sustainable tourism in the cross-border Karst region
Duration:September 1, 2017 – February 29, 2020.
The project´s main objective is to preserve the natural and cultural heritage of the Karst region which arises from three common challenges in the program area.
- (1) Conservation and valorization of the rich natural and cultural heritage, which will be achieved through the new sustainable destination KRASn´Krš, in which we will promote the four typical of the Karst landscapes and their heritage according to the principles of sustainable tourism: LOW, CONTACT, HIGH AND COASTAL KARST
- (2) Adaption of the tourist offer to the needs of contemporary visitors will be linked to four existing protected Karst heritage sites in Sežana, Škocjan Caves, Brod on Kolpa and Punat. They will be upgraded to heritage interpretation centers and interpretive heritage sites. We will establish the tourist offer of the destination with 10 cross-border sustainable products based on the principles of sustainable tourism for different target groups of visitors.
- (3) Connecting the small and fragmented tourist offer to steer visitors to the hinterland sights worthy of visit will be achieved by directing visitors to the lesser-known hot spots of Karst rural heritage in the hinterland.
The key task of GoodPlace in the project is to establish tourism products that will connect both the offer and the identified hotspots as well as established interpretation centers and polygons.
