We collaborated with Green Visions and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on the project focused on sustainability consulting for destinations and businesses in Bosnia and Herzegovina with an overall aim to promote sustainable tourism across the Balkans region.
We were entrusted to develop training materials, deliver several online and on-site workshops, and organize Green hours, all for both groups – destinations and businesses. Within the project, businesses were encouraged to become Good Travel Seal-certified, while destinations were guided through the TOP 100 Green Destinations criteria.
Within two workshops for businesses, we fully empowered ten different businesses, from accommodation providers, and agencies to outdoor centers, with complete insight into the Good Travel Seal standard (within the Good Travel Program, carried out by Green Destinations). The training for participants included a complete standard introduction and interpretation, enriched with concrete instructions and accompanied by several good practice examples from Slovenia and wider.
Within three workshops and guided by the TOP 100 Green Destinations criteria, we empowered local destinations with the right knowledge and tools, to fully understand 30 criteria and be able to report on them on the platform of Green Destinations.
A valuable addition to practice work were our rich experiences from implementing sustainability standards in 61 Slovenian destinations.
At the end of the project, a study tour to Slovenia was organized for participants in the program, showing them some of the best practices from Slovenia Green destinations and certified businesses in Ljubljana and Gorenjska region.
