About the project

In 2024, we carried out 18 workshops on sustainable tourism for various tourism businesses in Slovenian destinations and beyond. Through different educational days, conferences, discussions and meetings, we addressed over 400 listeners. We shared content, rich in practical examples and best practices in an innovative, fresh, and energetic way, encouraging stakeholders to make bold green decisions.

We performed training on the topic of ‘Sustainable Tourism,’ where we highlighted the main challenges facing the tourism sector and offered numerous positive solutions and initiatives at global, European, and Slovenian levels. We presented trends in sustainable tourism and encouraged participants to actively tackle the challenges of climate change and reducing carbon footprints. In the training on ‘Sustainable Certificates and the Green Scheme of Slovenian Tourism,’ we explained all the steps for obtaining the Slovenia Green label for businesses and all the primary certificates in the scheme. Through different practical examples and specific guidelines, we enhanced the understanding of sustainable business principles in the same-named training. After the lectures, participants gained valuable knowledge about the efficient use of water and energy and proper waste management, including reducing food waste.

We also conducted several workshops on the development and promotion of sustainable, mainly outdoor or cycling products. The lectures on marketing, quality of tourist services, the use of artificial intelligence in tourism, and sustainable tourist guiding also garnered a lot of enthusiasm.
