In cooperation with local representatives, we held a workshop for those involved in tourism in the municipality of Ilirska Bistrica, for which we are preparing a tourism strategy. The emphasis was on the active participation of local stakeholders in the implementation of measures in the areas of infrastructure, mobility, events and cooperation with providers, the use of established marketing and promotional channels and the strengthening of cycling as an important tourism segment of the destination.
Ilirska Bistrica is crossed by two recognizable cycling products, the Alpina Mediterranean (running through three countries) and the Trans Dinarica, which connects eight countries in the area between Slovenia and Serbia. As a partner of the TransDinarica2 project, the municipality of Ilirska Bistrica will establish one of the cycling hubs.
