Soča Outdoor Festival marks the birth of our sports event organization; SOF is our little baby who has already grown into a teenager – in 2025 we will hold the 12th edition. More than 2,800 nature running enthusiasts come to the event venue, as if from a fairy tale, at the confluence of the Tolminka and Soča rivers near Tolmin. About 45 percent of runners are from abroad (mostly Croatians, then Italians, Hungarians and Austrians). SOF has become one of the largest events of its kind in the region and, despite the well-established organization team, it always poses new challenges. From the beginning, we have been trying to ensure that the event has as little impact on nature as possible and that the implementation involves mainly local residents who have accepted it as their own.
