As authors of the Green Scheme of Slovenian Tourism, we offered consultancy to Visit Estonia in the process of establishing their role as an affiliate partner of Green Destinations that operates their own, national model of sustainable tourism development. The project was delivered in cooperation with Green Destinations.
The Slovenia Green model was used as the basis for development of the Estonian model, whereby differences between the countries were taken into account. To better understand them, we assisted the client in developing a full, complete country assessment against Green Destinations standard.
Besides having developed a step-by-step approach for Estonian destinations on their way to certification, we also delivered some on-line workshops and training, as onsite training was impeded due to covid. Luckily, the study tour of Estonian DMOs to Slovenia was possible in 2021. You can read a short GSTC article about it here.
